Case summary

What happened

World App 3.0 introduced Vault in October 2024. In April 2025, World added a Morpho Mini App that exposed Morpho lending, borrowing and vault rewards on World Chain. In September 2026, World Money replaced the legacy WLD and USDC Vaults with Earn. Current World documentation says Earn supports assets including WLD, USDC, wETH and wBTC and uses Morpho to source on-chain lending rates. The legacy USDC Dollar Vault used a different mechanism: USDC was converted into sDAI and yield followed the Sky Protocol Dai Savings Rate. Legacy balances remain on-chain until moved, and users can move them either into Earn or back to spending.

This is a product/provider migration rather than a verified insolvency, customer-loss or claims event. Legacy Vault balances remain on-chain until users move them; CYA does not infer a recovery percentage or universal customer outcome.

Varies by product

The historical USDC Dollar Vault and current Earn use different mechanisms. The legacy Dollar Vault converted USDC into sDAI and followed the Sky Protocol Dai Savings Rate; current Earn routes supported assets through Morpho-selected on-chain lending protocols. Withdrawal timing can depend on on-chain liquidity and protocol conditions, and product availability varies by region.

Known unknowns

Uncertainty

CYA does not infer that the historical WLD Vault used the same Sky/sDAI mechanism as the USDC Dollar Vault. Earn availability varies by region, withdrawal timing depends on on-chain liquidity and protocol conditions, and no universal APY, principal guarantee or customer outcome is inferred.

World App 3.0 introduces Vault

World announced World App 3.0 with a Vault feature that let users earn rewards on assets held through the app.

The launch establishes the user-facing Vault era. It does not prove that every Vault asset used one identical yield mechanism.

Earn replaces the WLD and USDC Vaults in World Money

World documented that Earn replaced the legacy WLD and USDC Vaults. Legacy users can move balances into Earn or back to spending, while current Earn uses Morpho-selected on-chain lending protocols.

This is a product/mechanism migration, not a platform failure. The legacy USDC Dollar Vault used Sky/sDAI; CYA does not generalize that mechanism to the historical WLD Vault.
